Law enforcement officers meet foreign students

At the beginning of the spring semester, Brest State Technical University hosted a meeting between representatives of law enforcement agencies and foreign students of the university. Welcoming the participants of the event, Natalya Petrovna Yalovaya, Vice-Rector for Educational Affairs, noted that for many years the university has been a home for young people from around the world, where they not only get a good education, but also make new friends, get acquainted with Belarusian people`s culture and traditions.
Deputy Head of the Citizenship and Migration Department of Brest Regional Executive Committee Vadim Vasilievich Rovensky reminded the students of the rules for the stay of foreign citizens in the Republic of Belarus. In his speech, he paid special attention to the timely registration at the citizenship and migration offices, spoke about the possibility of registering online on the Unified Electronic Services Portal, told about the procedure for obtaining work permits for foreign citizens, and warned the students against new fraud schemes on the Internet.
Dmitry Tadeushevich Lyganovsky, Head of the Citizenship and Migration Department at the Department of Internal Affairs of the Moskovsky District Administration in Brest, pointed out the relevancy of timely extending the temporary residence of foreign citizens and the conditions for re-registration at the address of a new place of residence.
Also the representatives of the State Border Committee of the Republic of Belarus Yevgeny Nikolayevich Shcherba, senior administrative officer, and Yevgeny Aleksandrovich Mushta, intelligence operations department officer, were present at the meeting. They told the students about some particularities of the legislation of the Republic of Belarus regarding the State Border, about the consequences of an attempt to illegally cross the border and about facilitating such actions.
At the end of the conference, the Head of the International Department of BrSTU, Vitaly Anatolyevich Khaletsky, thanked the guests for the information provided, noted that such meetings, which have become a good tradition at the university, are an effective way to prevent delinquencies among foreign citizens.
