Meeting of BrSTU students with an internal affairs officer

On February 29, at the Brest State Technical University, a meeting was held between students of the Mechanical Engineering and Civil Engineering Faculties with Maxim Vladimirovich Murashko, the security officer of the Department of Internal Affairs of the Leninsky District Administration of Brest.
The main types of Internet threats were discussed in the format of an open dialogue. Maxim Vladimirovich told about the scale of the cybercrime problem. He paid special attention to such common types of fraud as phishing and vishing, ways to protect bank cards and rules of safe behavior on social networks and instant messengers.
The speaker shared with students tips that will help minimize the risks of financial losses: do not advertise or transfer your bank card details, do not visit dubious sites, do not give in to emotions when receiving messages from loved ones asking for help, do not register bank cards in your name with the intention of their transfer to other persons for a fee. In addition, Murashko M.V. touched upon the topic of combating drug addiction, as well as combating drug trafficking. He noted that any unlawful actions are in any case suppressed by law enforcement officers.
The issues of digital transformation of crime are among the most pressing today. And not only the protection of the rights and interests of citizens, but also the information security of society and the state depends on how effectively we can counter this challenge.
