On October 17, the university stage of the “Student of the Year – 2023” competition took place in the assembly hall of the Brest State Technical University.
The 5 most active and motivated students, successful in their studies and creativity, competed for the title of winner: Mikhalev Roman — Faculty of Mechanical Engineering; Anastasia Komar – Faculty of Electronics and Information Systems; Sergel Veronica — Faculty of Economics; Smerdina Anastasia — Faculty of Electronics and Information Systems; Rosalyuk Anna Vladimirovna — Civil Engineering Faculty.
In the bright and festive atmosphere of the event, the students told about themselves and their hobbies, demonstrated their talents and strengths. Candidates for the title of “Student of the Year” competed in several tests: a business card competition, an oratory competition, an intellectual competition, and a creative competition.
The concert program prepared by the creative teams of BrSTU helped brighten up the minutes of waiting during the jury meeting.
After completing each competition number, the participants could breathe a sigh of relief, which could not be said about the jury. They faced an important, but very difficult task — to determine the winner of the competition. The competent jury included: Vice-Rector for Educational Work Natalya Petrovna Yalovaya; Vice-Rector for Regime, Security and Personnel Bosko Andrey Antonovich; Second Secretary of the Brest Regional Committee of the NGO Belarusian Republican Youth Union Chemarmazovich Elizaveta Dmitrievna; First Secretary of the Brest City Committee of the NGO Belarusian Republican Youth Union Olga Nikolaevna Sokolovskaya; Head of the Department of Educational Work with Youth BrSTU Budnik Denis Viktorovich; Head of the dance school Kazakova Anastasia Vasilievna; winner of the «Student of the Year — 2022» competition at BrSTU, finalist of the XIII National beauty contest «Miss Belarus — 2023» Daria Yakubovskaya.
The victory in the competition “Student of the Year – 2023” was won by 4th year student of the Faculty of Economics Sergel Veronika.
Second place was given to Anna Rosalyuk (Civil Engineering Faculty). Third place – Anastasia Smerdina (Faculty of Electronics and Information Systems).
In addition to the main title, Sergel Veronica was also recognized as the winner in the ONLINE Student of the Year nomination.
The competition brought together completely different people and showed that hard work and self-confidence are the main components of any success.
