SCHOOL OF ACTIVE CITIZEN

On October 24, the first meeting of the School of Active Citizen in the current academic year was held at Brest State Technical University, organized by the Department of Educational Work with Youth with the participation of the University Student Council. The event was attended by students from all faculties who take an active civic and patriotic position, who care about the future of our university and state. Students of the Faculty of Civil Engineering Anastasia Khlus, Ksenia Edunova and Elena Kisel made presentations on the topic “Today’s youth are tomorrow’s parents: the specifics of the demographic problem within the framework of the youth policy of the Republic of Belarus.” After the speakers’ speeches, a lively discussion broke out between the students on the problem of demography both in our country and in Europe. The dialogue showed that student youth are actively interested in current events and are able to clearly express their point of view, arguing and consistently defending their position. As the students present at the event stated, such meetings are very useful and productive for self-development and building up the ability to conduct a discussion.
