Visit of the Chairman of the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Belarus V.N. Orlovsky to BrSTU

On October 26, 2023, the Chairman of the State Customs Committee, State Advisor of the Customs Service of the III Rank Vladimir Nikolaevich Orlovsky and the Head of Brest Customs, State Advisor of the Customs Service of the IInd Rank Sergei Nikolaevich Yakuta visited the Brest State Technical University.
At a working meeting with the Rector of the university, Sergei Antonovich Kasperovich, current issues of training specialists in the specialty “Customs Affairs”, which has been carried out at BrSTU since 2023, were discussed in detail. In order to ensure practice-oriented training of specialists, BrSTU actively interacts with Brest Customs: the parties coordinate educational programs of academic disciplines, programs and bases of educational and production internships.
At a meeting with students of the specialty “Customs Affairs”, held in the format of a panel discussion, Orlovsky V.N. and Yakuta S.N. told students about the nuances of working at various customs clearance stations located both in the Brest region and in other regions, and the tasks of the State Customs Committee for the coming year. The students, in turn, asked the speakers all the questions that interested them. During the conversation, students learned about the technologies used in the work of customs authorities, the results of the work of customs as a law enforcement agency, the procedure for recruitment, opportunities for internship and further employment in the customs committee, and also about the advantages of such a distribution.
As the Chairman of the State Customs Committee noted, the Customs Committee pays great attention to the younger generation, which will replace existing employees. Work with youth is carried out starting from school and continues at the university. Along with the educational process, much attention is paid to events to unite the younger generation at sports and tourist venues.
The conversation turned out to be interesting and lively. The students noted that the direct communication with the leadership of the Belarusian customs is important for them, because it is very cool when they can speak openly and without intermediaries.
