On November 17, 2023, on the eve of the Day of Establishment of the Brest Customs, a solemn ceremony took place, uniting over 70 representatives of the younger generation who gathered on the occasion of the initiation of students of the customs class, the presentation of grade books to students of the specialty “Customs Affairs” of the Brest State Technical University and shoulder straps to young officeres of the Brest Customs.
Sergei Yakuta, Head of Brest Customs, addressing those present, noted that the solemn event united 3 generations of young people, connected to one degree or another with the customs business. The event was also attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Economics of BrSTU Victoria Vasilyevna Zazerskaya, the Head of the Department of Accounting, Analysis and Audit Natalya Vasilievna Potapova, as well as the leadership team of the Brest Customs.
For 25 first-year students of the specialty “Customs Affairs” of BrSTU, the day was also symbolic in that they received one of the main documents — the grade book — on International Student Day from the hands of the Head of the Brest Customs Sergei Yakuta. “Today you have acquired the main student document, which will reflect your desire to become a highly qualified specialist in the field of customs,” noted the Head of the Brest Customs. Also, 4 students of the Faculty of Economics, specialty “Customs Affairs” were awarded the sign of the Brest Customs “For Distinguished Service”, II degree.
At the conclusion of the solemn event, Sergei Nikolaevich congratulated all those present on the Day of Establishment of the Brest Customs and wished new endeavours and achievements for the benefit of the common home — their native Belarus!
For future customs officers, employees conducted a tour of the historical exhibition in the building of the Brest Customs, which on November 20 will celebrate 84 years since its establishment: the students got acquainted with the specifics of the work and saw with their own eyes what the work of specialists consists of.
