On the eve of the Day of Belarusian Science, a meeting of the Scientific and Technical Council of the Brest State Technical University was held.
As part of the opposition, the dissertation of the Head of the University of Civil Protection of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Belarus Ivan Ivanovich Polevoda “Comprehensive assessment of the fire resistance of modern building structures made of concrete” for the degree of Doctor of Technical Sciences in specialty 05.26.03 — Fire and Industrial Safety (Combustion, Heat and Mass Transfer) was considered.
During the event, Ivan Ivanovich shared the results of comprehensive studies of fire behavior, approaches to determining fire resistance limits, as well as a scientifically based concept for a comprehensive assessment of the fire resistance of reinforced concrete structures.
In his speech, Polevoda I.I. spoke about the development of rules for determining the fire resistance limits of modern building structures made of reinforced concrete, which make it possible to ensure the fire safety of buildings and structures. He focused on the analysis and generalization of the calculation results, which made it possible to obtain tabular data on the assessment of fire resistance, and noted their practical significance.
