On November 11, at the Republic Institute of Higher Education in Minsk, a republic-wide seminar “Modern trends in the development of the volunteer movement in higher education institutions of the Republic of Belarus” was held, dedicated to the problems and prospects for the development of volunteer activities. The meeting was attended by the coordinator of the volunteer group of the Brest State Technical University Valeria Vyacheslavovna Oleshko, as well as more than 50 coordinators of volunteer centers of higher educational institutions from all regions of the country. During the seminar, specialists in working with volunteers analyzed the current demographic characteristics of young people, discussed modern approaches and opportunities in working with volunteers. An important component of the event was dialogue with colleagues, the opportunity to meet like-minded people, as well as the exchange of experience and improvement of work in volunteer activities. The meaning of student volunteering is, first of all, that it launches the processes of self-knowledge, change of value orientations, and the acquisition of professional experience.
