On the eve of the first winter examination session in the lives of current freshmen, students of the specialty “Artificial Intelligence” of the Faculty of Electronics and Information Systems of BrSTU received their grade books. The ceremony took place in the educational-scientific-practical laboratory “Industrial Robotics”, and the students were given test scores by universal industrial robotic manipulators of the Universal Robot UR-10 and Techman Robot TM-5-900 models.
It is worth noting that first-year students of the Artificial Intelligence specialty Yaroslav Palchasty and Evgeniy Skachkov were busy preparing for the unusual event. As the guys themselves said, completing such an extraordinary task was a kind of test assignment for professional aptitude. It was necessary not only to program the “mechanical arms”, but also to coordinate their joint movements, as well as to digitize the prepared script and reproduce it using a speech synthesizer.
At the beginning of the ceremony, the Universal Robot UR-10 robot played the BrSTU anthem, apologized for the possible incorrect pronunciation and, together with the Techman Robot TM-5-900 robot, personally presented the document to each freshman.
After the last test, the robotic manipulator wished everyone a successful examination period, and also drew attention to the fact that he receives all his skills from a person who acquires knowledge during his studies, and knowledge is the greatest value that cannot be assessed and measured.
