At the Brest State Technical University, with the active assistance of the Brest City Council of Veterans, a Memory Lesson was held dedicated to the 105th anniversary of the All-Union Leninist Communist Youth Union (VLKSM).
The first secretary of the Brest regional committee of the Belarusian Republican Youth Union, Yuri Sergeevich Segenyuk, addressing the participants, noted that it was the Komsomol youth who were in the forefront of the defenders of the Motherland during the Great Patriotic War, and then they restored the country from ruins in the post-war years; It was the Komsomol that mastered the All-Union shock-work construction projects and raised virgin lands. And now the Belarusian Republican Youth Union is trying to live up to the high title of successor to the Komsomol, being in the forefront of building an independent Belarusian state, sacredly honoring the traditions and continuity of generations.
The speakers also raised the topic of reviving the activities of student construction teams in the first years of Belarus’ independence and organizing joint student teams. The best traditions of educational and volunteer teams, propaganda teams, student festivals, labor and charity events are continued by today’s youth.
Connection and continuity of generations is the key to peace and prosperity of our country.
